**Scale Attendant**

**This position is part time / casual / on call**

Bowerman Construction is happy to offer an opportunity for a Scale Shack Attendant for our Quarry in Port Alberni, BC. We are seeking positive, experienced and energetic people to join our diverse and dynamic team. All Bowerman personnel must display strong work ethic, a positive attitude, good problem solving skills, and be able to work cohesively and selflessly within in a team environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate scale and computer system; weigh trucks in and out (weigh scale operation)
- Communicate effectively with drivers and Quarry personnel via VHF Radio and in person
- Prepare Quarry scale slips and maintain in a neat and organized manner
- Ensure interior and exterior of office is kept clean
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Bowerman Construction policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required

**Requirements**:

- Reliable and able to work unsupervised as needed
- Professional demeanour when dealing with the public
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Effective organizational skills
- Valid provincial driver’s license and reliable transportation

**Assets**:

- First aid, CPR and WHMIS training
- Previous scale experience
- Ability to operate a loader

This position is compensated at an hourly rate. Compensation will be determined by the successful applicant’s level of training and experience. Submissions will be reviewed and only short listed applicants will be contacted for interviews.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 8 per week

**Salary**: $18.00-$24.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Port Alberni, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
