**What will you be doing**
- Ensuring Compliance with the CNSC regulatory requirements.
- Holding the authority to stop any activity that might result in a regulatory non
- compliance.
- Acting as the signing authority for CNSC licences.
- Reviewing all documentation of incoming heavy water shipments to the LaPrade site to ensure material to be received is acceptable under site licence limits.
- Effectively managing the utilization of Gentilly and LaPrade Staff to achieve project requirements and milestones.
- Ensuring that correct RP instruments and techniques are being used to support decommissioning projects and meet the requirements of the Gentilly Facilities and Radiation Protection Programs
- Providing advice on RP resource utilization and the latest technological developments in the radiation protection field.
- Accountable for forecasting staffing needs. Includes recruitment, interviewing, hiring, initial and ongoing training for Gentilly-1 and LaPrade.
- Responsible for continuing observation and coaching, performance management, appraisals and evaluations.
- Identifying radiation safety issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensuring sufficient resources (personnel and equipment) are available to support operations, maintenance and projects within decommissioning facilities.
- Optimizing employee talent and capability and draw out the best out of others and challenge and develop skills that support the business and increase employee value/contribution to the organization.
- Responsible for personnel time management, staffing allocation and arranging overtime resources as required by operational needs.
- Request and correlate information required for reports including compilation and processing through TRAK, (i.e., compliance surveys, routine duties and RP Logs).
- Monitoring, directing and evaluating the performance of RP personnel to ensure that work is performed to the specific standards of the Radiation Protection Program.
- Soliciting, evaluating and using advice, as appropriate, on technical matters from staff and from technical and safety support groups and providing technical report documentation.

**What we are looking for**:

- Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security”.
- Secondary School graduation with Grade 12/13 advanced level with Ontario Academic Credits (OACs) in Math, Science and English or equivalent
- Over 5 years’ experience working in a nuclear environment or equivalent.
- Well-developed leadership and communication skills including the ability to develop a collaborative, team-oriented work environment in a unionized environment.
- Demonstrate ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency, unusual or hazardous conditions and to lead others in such conditions.
- Bilingual
- Familiar with emergency procedures and responsibilities.
- A working knowledge of CNL’s practices, procedures and organization.
- Good writing skills for report development, daily logs, Radiological Work Assessments and Radiological Work Permits.
- Good working ability with Microsoft suite of software.
- Familiarity with CNL’s compliance programs.
- Be capable of working through complex problems during decommissioning activities
- Understanding of waste management principles and volume reduction methodologies.
- Capable of producing plans and schedules.
- Knowledge of Canada Labour Code Part II.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

- Office setting with moderate time spent in the field
- Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time
