**Journeyman Pipefitter**

Steamfitter/Pipefitters lay out, assemble and fabricate piping and pressure vessels in a shop environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use, and lay out the sequence of tasks
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, assemble and install pipes, valves and fittings
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Ability to read and interpret isometric drawings
- Ability to read metric and imperial
- Experience fitting on a bench in a fast paced shop environment
- Oxy/acetylene cutting experience
- Comfortable using 6” and 7” grinders
- Join pipe sections, related equipment and secure in position
- Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Physical strength, stamina and the use of proper lifting techniques required to manage heavy materials and stand for long periods
- manual dexterity
- mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and understand complex instructions
- Ability to do careful and exacting work

**Education and Experience**:
Alberta Journeyman Certificate
