At **SMS Equipment,** **our **Project Planner** is responsible for providing support functions to the Service and Parts teams. The **Project Planner** **will plan for upcoming component business, this includes collaborating with customers and internal team members to ensure need are met and supported effectively. This position is in **Acheson, AB.**

This position offers a **hybrid** **work arrangement. **This is a temporary position for a duration of 6 months.**

The salary for this position is **$80,000 - $90,000.**

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Work closely with the service team in collecting information to support project planning.
- Collaborate with the Service and Parts teams to produce project tracker workbooks in relation to the accepted planning.
- Work closely with customers to establish and maintain positive lines of communication regarding planning schedules to better prepare for upcoming part and component demands.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met/exceeded regarding component supply and returns.
- Create Gantt charts based on the project planning estimated time frame.
- Compile and organize data on network drive, after completion for future use.
- Participate in internal and external project meetings as required and action any takeaways assigned.
- Collaborate with the team on any project risks and assist with mitigation strategies or solutions.
- Communicate the demands effectively to inventory support personnel and Component Analyst to ensure all parties are aware of upcoming demands.
- Work with sublets and business partners to ensure alignment on scheduling.
- Establish and attend meetings to touch base with customers on ongoing planning and maintenance practices.
- Develop and maintain a planning strategy and forecasting for all components and all models to support in region.
- Request equipment repair costing information and proposals from key business partners and equipment suppliers.
- Collaborate with the SMS corporate office on Reman Exchange and Cost of Repair components.

**Qualifications**:

- Journeyperson level trade certification or equivalent experience is an asset.
- Experience in operating systems such as ERP and SAP.
- Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of company and customer standards and procedures as applicable.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
