**Location**: New Westminster Surgical Centre, a division of Clearpoint Health Network is Hiring for Unit Aide

**About the Role**:
As a Unit Aide, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical unit at New Westminster Surgical Centre. Reporting to the Facility Manager and OR Nurse Manager, you'll ensure the seamless processing of patients, adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a professional and caring approach. Your responsibilities include specimen transport, room turnovers, stocking, screening patients, and more.

**Daily Routine**:

- Morning: Available for turnovers/specimens, screening/settling of patients, and other duties as assigned.
- Breaks: Timed between tasks, ensuring proper communication with teams.
- End of Day: Restocking, setting up OR for the next day, ensuring timely transport of specimens/charts to the hospital.

**Responsibilities**:

- ** OR**: Specimen transport, turnover between cases, restocking anesthetic cart, setting up rooms, receiving medication shipments.
- ** PAR**: Screening/settling patients, turnover of stretchers/rooms, patient transport via wheelchair.
- ** MDR**: Restocking in substerile room/OR, identifying items for reordering, transportation to/from the hospital.
- ** Front**: Chart/label transport, linen restocking, patient belongings bag preparation, grocery shopping.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Grade 12, Sterile Supply Processing course, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program.
- One year of recent related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
- Understanding of IPAC and WHMIS standards and procedures.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Capability to work under pressure, perform various duties independently, and lift, walk, push, pull, and stand frequently.
