**Treasury Specialist (16-month contract)**

**Summary of Position**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented **Treasury Specialist** to join our dynamic team at a large public lumber company. As a **Treasury Specialist**, you will be responsible for financial analysis, managing payments, updating banking documentation and drive process improvements and efficiencies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our organization while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform cheque runs, process wire transfers, EFT and online tax payments.
- Identify opportunities to streamline cash management processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Coordinate the opening and closing of bank accounts and manage signing authorities.
- Monitor bank fees, analyze bank statements, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and provide recommendations for improving cash management.
- Assist in the preparation of treasury-related sections for regulatory filings and external audits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in treasury operations or related roles, preferably within a large public company or the manufacturing industry.
- Solid understanding of cash management principles, financial instruments, and risk management techniques.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g Sarbanes-Oxley Act).
- High ethical standards and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
