**Research Associate**

**About the Role**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Process development projects and investigations, including in-depth statistical analyses and modelling related to understanding and improving process/equipment capability;
- Various process modelling tools conduct investigations to improve and optimize process performance with a particular emphasis on sustainability targets;
- Support for ongoing Sustainability projects including through process modelling, literature reviews and benchmarking and collaborative research projects;
- Work in a multi-disciplinary environment with Operating, Quality, Environmental, Engineering and Maintenance personnel, and provide technical support for process development activities;
- Prepare presentations and write technical reports summarizing test results and observations;
- Ad hoc assignments as needed.

**Job Qualifications**:

- University Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering;
- Strong understanding of process modelling, statistical methods, and manufacturing practices;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal and organization skills;
- Good computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, knowledge of process modelling software packages is an asset;
- Ability and desire to work on the shop floor;
- Ability to learn quickly and to assume responsibility while working within a team;
- Valid G or G2 driver’s license and vehicle is required.

**Working conditions**:

- Mix of office, laboratory, and heavy manufacturing environments.
