Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Geologist Trainee to join our team in Vancouver, BC. As a Geologist Trainee you will report to the Exploration and Resource Development Manager. This opportunity provides you the opportunity of hands-on experience in Geology activities across the region gaining exposure to multiple levels of management and a variety of complex geologic structures, drill programs, operational challenges, and varying extraction methods for our sand and gravel mining operations. 30% travel will be required.

**What You’ll Get to Do**:

- Participate fully and actively in all assigned development activities
- Support Geology activities including:

- Drill plan and test pit plan preparation
- Field logging for exploration programs
- Sample test planning and preparation
- Geologic model preparation and updates
- Reserve and resource reports
- Mining and geology project management
- Consultant management
- Field survey coordination
- Learn basic supervisory skills by working side by side with experienced supervisors

**Essential Experience and Skills**
- Bachelor of Applied Science in geological engineering, a Bachelor of Science in geology or a related discipline will be considered
- Must have a strong desire to work in a mining and industrial environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to be a self-starter and take initiative
- Solid interpersonal and leadership skills
- Class 5 license is required with access to own transportation
