Friends Together Childcare Cooperative is seeking an energetic and responsible professional to join our team as a cook. Our centre provides childcare and nutrition for 18 months - 6 yrs. We offer employee benefits after successfully completing a (3) month probationary period, and one paid health day per month.

The successful applicant must posses a certificate in Food Safety Handling Course, current Criminal Record Check, First Aid/CPR Certification. A certificate in Early Childhood Education Level 1 (approved through the Ministry of Education, Saskatchewan) would be considered an asset. Shift is Monday to Friday 8:30 - 5 pm.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

- Preparing each meal in accordance with Health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Preparing daily menu, substituting items for children with dietary restrictions.
- Compiling weekly inventory of food for the upcoming week, grocery shopping.
- Removal of food, trays, utensils, after each scheduled snack, lunch time.
- Washing and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, utensils (following strict sanitizing protocol)
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, including grills, oven, microwave, cupboards, refrigerator, freezer, responsible for sweeping and mopping kitchen area, staff washroom.
- Remove waste and garbage to designated collection bins.
- May include substituting/assisting staff in the classrooms when required.
- Provide a safe and comfortable environment; work closely with staff, children and families.
- Supervise and support daily transition routines throughout the day.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings

**Salary**: $16.00 per hour
