Located in beautiful Trent Hills with an office centrally located just steps away from the lovely Trent River in the heart of Campbellford’s town centre, Transitions Counselling Services is a private practice therapy clinic. Established in April 2018, we are interested in growing our team of Registered Masters-level Social Workers.
In this position, you will work as an **Independent Contractor** with Transitions Counselling Services. Enabling you to do the clinical work you love, while the practice manages all of the marketing, office management and administrative tasks. You will also have the opportunity to experience stronger earning potential than what is available in community settings.
Estimated Annual Income - assuming 4 weeks of vacation:
10 - 20 sessions per week = $40,320 - $80, 640 per year
We provide individual, couples and family therapy, and are anticipating group therapy options in the future. We provide services mainly to adults however do work with youth (approximately ages 14 and up).

We are seeking clinicians who recognize that regardless of what may have brought one to therapy, the experience is one of self-discovery - of coming to a greater understanding of one's self, and finding more self-compassion, and from there, the ripple effect on one's life of all the positive benefits that come with such growth.
**What we are looking for**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Assess for and provide support in the treatment of mental health difficulties
- Competent and confident in conducting biopsychosocial, cognitive, and depression assessments and in
use of PTSD, anxiety, Relationship Satisfaction, Trauma Inventory and other screening tools
- Complete suicide risk assessments, interventions and monitoring
- Ability to provide brief, solution focused work, as well as longer term psychotherapy, with clients in person,over the phone and via video conferencing
- Create and implement treatment plans based on the needs of the client
- Facilitate open or closed psycho-educational groups (with administrative / facilitation support)
- Ability to produce professional quality clinical notes, adhering to College guidelines
**Job Requirements & Skills**:
- Excellent communication skills and full fluency in verbal and written English
- Minimum of 2-5 years of direct counselling experience or relevant/closely related experience
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of counselling skills and theory as it relates to youth, individuals, couples and families
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with complex cases
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Demonstrated crisis intervention skills
- Superior skills in advocating on behalf of vulnerable individuals
- Calm and patient listener
- Self-motivated and ability to manage a varied caseload
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, decision
- making, conflict resolution and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent time management skills as it pertains to scheduling and paperwork
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (Unless given medical exemption)
- Own computer/laptop for using video conferencing for clients who prefer video sessions
**Preferred/Assets**:
- Training and experience in preferred modality; EMDR, EFT, CBT, CBCT, IFS (Parts Therapy), Solution Focused, Narrative and DBT, other Trauma-informed training
**Educational Requirements and Credentials**:
- Master’s in Social Work (MSW) or related field
- Registered with the OCSWSSW or CRPO or equivalent College (In good standing)
- Clear Vulnerable Sector & Criminal Record Check
- Must have Professional Liability Insurance
