The Institute of Health, Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) has the largest and most productive group of scholars working in health policy, health services, health informatics, clinical epidemiology and health care research in Canada today. IHPME is housed within the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, which is the largest public health school in Canada, with more than 850 faculty, 1,000 students, and research and training partnerships with institutions throughout Toronto and the world.

**Your Opportunity**:
Your background in health services, information science/ social science research, mixed method analysis, and solid communication and organizational skills will be crucial to your success.

The Research Associate will work with Dr. Abi Sriharan on grant-funded research studies. The responsibilities of the Research Associate will include the following:

- Author scientific papers, funding proposals, and abstracts.
- Develop inter-disciplinary, inter-institutional, and inter-sectoral research collaborations.
- Assist in the preparation of research proposals to be submitted to granting agencies
- Implement and execute qualitative and quantitative research methods such as interviews and focus groups.
- Prepare literature reviews, draft reports and summaries, including data memos and knowledge translation documents
- Coordinate research activities, monitor progress, and maintain project records
- Support the management team with daily tasks, including coordinating research team schedules, agendas, follow-up items, transcriptions, and supporting research ethics processes.

**Qualifications**:

- Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Business or Computer Science or a related discipline or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience that includes conducting mixed-method research and analyzing qualitative data; work experience collecting and analyzing quantitative data as an asset
- Experience conducting literature reviews and environmental scans
- Experience drafting summaries of research results, including in tabular and graphic forms, and preparing presentation materials, reports, and documents for knowledge translation purposes
- Demonstrated experience coordinating research projects and implementing qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Effective project coordination, time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously
- Experience with maintaining websites and creating and maintaining a presence on social media platforms.
- High proficiency with MS Office Suite such as Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel, and other software packages (e.g., SPSS, Endnote, NVivo)
- Effective analytical skills; strong initiative and commitment to research work
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-disciplinary teams
- Strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills
