Northern Industrial Services have been established in the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector for more than 20 years delivering non-destructive testing and inspection services to Northern Ontario. We strive to provide the best possible service to our unique and diverse clients.

This position will oversee the completion of NDT inspections in compliance with legislated industry codes, standards, and procedures. The Level II Technician maintains a high level of expertise within the scope and methods of NDT and may be asked to provide training for Trainee Technicians. A $5000 signing bonus will be awarded upon the completion of a 3-month probation period. The pay will be determined by the qualifications and experience that the applicant holds. This position includes a company vehicle, health benefits and RRSP matching.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Performs and completes NDT field inspections in compliance with client, industry and company standards and policies.
- Prepares and completes all necessary paperwork required in compliance with client, industry and company standards and policies.
- Ensures all equipment is setup, calibrated and functional at all times in alignment with client and company procedures.
- Applies testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of NDT techniques, services and procedures.
- Fundamental understanding of industry codes, regulations and practices.
- Excellent report writing and review skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills matched with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.

**Education and Work Experience**:

- Must have Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) Level II certification
- MT.
- UT, PT & CWB VT certifications are considered assets and will be reflected in wages.
- Valid class G driver’s license.

**Working Conditions**:

- Required to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.
- Commonly exposed to walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally required to work in noisy/loud working environments.
- Required to work overtime during the week (1.5x wage) and weekend (2x wage) depending on project scope and work volume.
- Occasional to frequent travel will be required within northern Ontario but is not limited to neighboring provinces.
- Working conditions will vary between project locations.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
