**Job Summary**:
CCIS YYCTrades Training is seeking a skilled and experienced Plumbing and Pipe Trades Instructor to join our team. As a Plumbing and Pipe Trades Instructor, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of skilled tradespeople by imparting your knowledge and expertise in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. As a Plumbing and Pipe Trades Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering instructional programs that equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the plumbing and pipe trades industry. Your primary focus will be on creating a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, enabling them to successfully complete their certification and enter the workforce.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Plan, organize, and deliver instructional programs in plumbing and pipe trades
- Prepare students for certification exams and entry into the workforce
- Prepare students for Alberta's Apprenticeship and Industry (AIT) entrance exam
- Prepare students for the First Year Plumbing Period Exam
- Develop and deliver lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that meet program objectives
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Assess students' learning needs and facilitate learning opportunities to meet those needs
- Maintain a safe and respectful learning environment

**Requirements**:
**Education**:

- Journeyman Plumber certification with a Red Seal Endorsement
- Diploma or certificate in adult education, teaching, or a related field an asset

**Experience**:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in the plumbing and pipe trades industry
- Teaching or instructional experience an asset

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of plumbing and pipe trades codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Ability to communicate effectively and cooperatively, both orally and in writing, with people from various backgrounds
- Ability to evaluate student progress and assess students' learning needs
- Ability to deal effectively with difficult situations
- Leadership and motivation skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Desire to enhance teaching and learning through the use of technology
- Willingness to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- teaching: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Journeyman Plumber certification with a Red Seal (preferred)
