Furniture Destroyer & First Aid Attendant (INDOOR work), Start immediately.

- We have a strict Attendance Policy. We are a small company and need all staff to report to work as scheduled.

This is a physical position that requires being on your feet, regular heavy lifting, using a variety of hand tools, and being able to move at a good pace. The general labour role is an entry-level job with a production quota in a fast-paced environment. The First Aid Attendant component of this job requires current certification and positive, previous experience in the role.

The position is with a very busy mattress and furniture recycling facility located on Annacis Island (Delta, BC). We are accessible by transit and also have free parking. Optional overtime could be offered once you are working well and succeeding at your job.

Responsibilities include:

- Unloading and inspecting used and defective furniture from trucks;
- Dismantling furniture using various methods and tools;
- Properly sorting components for recycling;
- Keeping work area/ warehouse clean;
- Following ALL operating and safety procedures and policies, including wearing a respirator (which we provide);
- Meeting realistic quotas and expectations for the volume of material processed;
- Perform First Aid Attendant duties as a member of our FAA Team
- Other appropriate tasks as they arise.

**Requirements**:

- Fast learner with good retention
- Able to work in a physically demanding job and move items weighing up to 70 pounds.
- Previous experience working safely with drills, reciprocating saws, and other similar tools.
- Hard-working, efficient, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
- Honest, punctual, responsible, reliable, and a team player.
- Able to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
- Be currently certified for Occupational First Aid Level 1, with previous experience and references.
- Due to the private and confidential nature of a First Aid Attendant's role, you may be asked to provide a current criminal record check. We also may do online court record checks.

**When in the warehouse, you will be required to wear a small respirator (which we provide). Must be clean-shaven as per WorkSafeBC requirements.**

We provide all other PPE including safety glasses, gloves, earplugs, and reflective harness/ vest but you must bring your own steel-toed boots. **Full-time permanent** employees are eligible for company-paid health benefits, AD & D coverage, life insurance, flu and tetanus shots, and paid sick leave after a 3-month probationary period.
