The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities, managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of products. Works collaboratively and strategically with personnel across the organization to achieve top level customer service, bottom line savings, risk mitigation, and strategic execution of purchasing department’s KPI’s to align with company’s goals and objectives. This role is instrumental in maintaining inventory levels and optimizing purchasing processes and driving cost savings.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop an acute understanding of the company’s ERP/MRP system.
- Develop and maintain inventory levels that meet company expectations.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture to achieve best practices and improve bottom line.
- Streamline procurement processes ensuring efficiency and compliance with company policy and values and industry regulations.
- Execute strategic global sourcing initiatives for all new and existing product lines to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Manage supplier relationships by periodically meeting new and existing suppliers.
- Responsible for departmental design, recruitment, development, coaching and policy enforcement of the purchasing team.
- Collaborate with Sales on new customer product requirements.
- Work with Sales to disposition surplus/obsolete inventory.
- Member of the New Product Development team that launches new products.
- Perform data analysis and audits of effective inventory management.
- Work cross-functionally across the organization

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Management, Business Administration, in related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years similar or related job experience
- 5+ years leadership experience

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience with budget and business plan development
- Proven organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
- Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics
- Relevant industry experience is an asset.
