**Description**:
The Associate Vice President, Educational Services (AVP) is responsible for assisting the Vice President, Academic (VPA) in achieving the strategic priorities of the College. Under the direction of the VPA, the AVP will have a leadership role related to labour issues, annual programming planning and review, enrollment management, student success, and academic policies and regulations. The AVP is accountable for the Registrar, Director of Student Services, Director of Indigenous Education, and the Director of International Education. Through collaborative processes, the AVP will support initiatives for student recruitment and retention, marketing, student financial support, and continuous improvement of College processes. In some cases, the VPA will empower the AVP to act on behalf of the office of the VPA.

The AVP is responsible for supporting the development of the annual program and training plans for the institution. The AVP will work with under the direction of the VPA to create these plans during the annual budget cycle in a timely and collaborative manner. In collaboration with the Registrar, the AVP will produce the NLC Annual Institutional Accountability Report,

With responsibility for Registrar duties, ensuring the College clearly, fairly communicates its expectations to students through comprehensive policies which cover student admissions, registration, grading and certification, and examinations; develops said policies through a proactive, consultative, and collaborative process with faculty, staff, and other administrators to reflect College values, philosophy, and academic standards, and is consistent with legal requirements on the College and Institute Act,

The AVP will lead the Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) group, under the direction of the VPA, ensuring student enrolment (domestic and international) and scheduling is well planned and coordinated. This work will connect the enrolment management planning cycle each year with annual programming and training plans, and institutional budget planning,

With responsibility for Student Services, the AVP will use a consultative and collaborative process to develop policies and to establish standards about best practices for student development that meet the standards of the College and any appropriate external accrediting bodies, monitors the quality of student development by evaluating college-wide performance against standards, and conducting audits of services as required,

The AVP will provide leadership in the administration of student services to implement the overall mission, vision, values, and strategic pillars and goals of the College through a proactive, consultative, and collaborative process with the faculty/staff of the Divisions and other administrators. Specifically, the AVP will work closely with internal departments, academic divisions, student councils, and stakeholders to maximize service standards, delivery of education, and opportunities for students,

Develops plans for new services and revisions to existing services in response to changing student, student life, and community needs; works closely with the VPA and Vice President of Community Relations and Institutional Strategy (VPCRIS), Education Council, and Chairs to ensure the needs of students are met. Allocates departmental resources to maximize re-source utilization and respond to changing needs,

The AVP will work closely with the VPA, along with Deans and Directors of the College regarding the implementation and sustainability of the Indigenization and Internationalization Plans as they relate to curriculum and programming,

Under the guidance of the VPA and Vice President of Finance and Corporate Services (VPF), the AVP is responsible for development, implementation and management of issues concerning NLC's academic policies and regulations,

The AVP is responsible for assisting and advising the VPA and the VPCRIS with labour-related issues derived from instructional employees reporting through to the VPA. These issues may include issues with potential for investigation, discipline, censure, suspension, or dismissal of instructional employees,

Accountable to the VPA for the development, management, prioritization, and balancing of the annual budget for all departments and functions within the portfolio. Monitors the control of allocated funds and works with VPA and the VPF to ensure corrective action is taken as required,

Performs other duties as assigned.
