Location: Halifax - In Office position

Project Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Conceptualize and design a purpose-built nonlinear algorithm (or similar) specifically for the tax and estate optimization problem in Optiml
- Decrease runtime of the overall analysis for a typical user by ~50%
- Develop dynamic optimization parameters (step size, tolerance, jacobian function, gradient estimation, etc.) that are tailored to the user’s inputs
- Develop a mechanism within the purpose-built nonlinear algorithm to generate viable alternative solutions in cases where the user's input plan is mathematically unattainable.

Desired Experience & Skills:

- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on nonlinear programming.
- Expertise in designing and implementing nonlinear algorithms.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conceptualize complex problems and devise effective solutions.
- Experience in financial modeling, tax optimization, or estate planning is a plus.
- Experience with Object Oriented Programming.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
