**ABOUT US**

Westover Express, WEX recently acquired the former Enbridge Line 10 pipeline, commenced operations in September 2023. The pipeline carries oil from Enbridge Pipeline’s terminal in Westover, Ontario to United Refining Company’s 78-mile-long Kiantone Pipeline in West Seneca, New York to supply United’s approximately 70,000 barrel-per-day (“bpd”) refinery in Warren, Pennsylvania. Westover Express is looking for a Technical Electrician to install and maintain all electrical and power systems related to the Line 10 pipeline in Canada and extending to the United States border.

Reporting to the Pipeline Maintenance Manager - Cathodic Protection Technician main responsibility is to maintain corrosions and cathodic prevention systems for transmission and distribution systems and facilities across the pipeline. Providing timely reports to WEX Engineering related to instrumentation readings. In addition, support engineering projects, field services and ongoing maintenance operations which includes but is not limited to; performing crossing inspections with 3 party stakeholders, participating in tool runs, and performing utility locates.

This position helps ensure operational compliance with all applicable codes and standards, regulatory requirements, and all applicable procedures and safe work practices. The role may also include some hands-on work around company assets and dealing with hydrocarbons which includes working with the base business department to inspect, repair and maintain facilities as needed and when available. The Cathodic Protection Technician works with Field Services and Engineering, to provide feedback and information on improving processes and procedures related to project execution, commissioning, and start-up work.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Plans, installs and maintains corrosion-prevention systems, such as cathodic protection and protective coatings for pipelines, storage tanks, and pump stations.
- Reviews detailed designs for corrosion prevention systems, cost estimates and bid documents; assists in the evaluation of bids and the selection of contractors; serves as project manager for corrosion-related capital improvement projects.
- Inspects district pipelines, storage tanks, and facilities on a regular basis as part of the corrosion prevention program.
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data from corrosion prevention test stations to determine the need for maintenance, repair and/or replacement.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, adjusts and repairs corrosion prevention and testing devices, equipment and systems.
- Coordinates the use of consultants to review and evaluate corrosion control parameters of pipelines and flow control facilities; perform pipeline condition assessments and service life analysis.
- Participates in the annual ILI of the pipeline system.
- Performs or has the ability to perform all the duties of an inspector.
- Perform line locates on company pipelines and/or utility line patrols and associated right-of-way maintenance.
- Maintain and repair pipeline in various tasks.
- Storage field facility operations and maintenance to include: tool runs, pigging, and other tasks as required
- Initiate corrective action to review and improve operational procedures.
- Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc.
- Assists all project related work at a field level, ensures all company policies are being adhered to by all contractors involved in the work. Effectively communicates to all involved in the project work to ensure compliance and identify issues that could impact safety, costs, or schedules.
- Required to become proficient with all WEX critical procedures and work practices for all work.
- Demonstrates visible safety leadership to inspection, identification, and response to daily operations safety issues.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Successful completion of NACE Basic Corrosion course or ability to obtain within one year.
- NACE Certified CP 1 (Cathodic Protection Tester) or ability to obtain within two years.
- NACE Certified CP 2 (Cathodic Protection Technician) or ability to obtain within four years.
- NACE Coating Inspector Program (CIP Level 1) or ability to obtain within two years.
