**The Opportunity**
We are seeking a Production Foreman to join our Manufacturing team. The Production Foreman works closely with the Production Manager to oversee daily operations in our production facility. The Foreman is responsible for ensuring daily production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are enforced. This role involves leading/directing team members in the various production cells, coordinating with multiple departments and team members, and providing regular updates to the Production Manager on progress, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Collaboration with Production Manager**:
- Work closely with the Production Manager to understand and set daily production goals, timelines, and resource needs.
- Provide daily reports to the Production Manager on production output, quality control, equipment status, and any operational issues.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager on capacity planning, process improvement initiatives, and staffing requirements.
**2. Leadership & Supervision**:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production team members throughout the various production cells.
- Communicate production cell targets and priorities to the team as set by the Production Manager, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to the Production Manager to inform decisions regarding team development or changes.
**3. Production Management**:
- Execute the daily production plan as developed with the Production Manager, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and timely completion of work orders.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and collaborate with the Production Manager to schedule any repairs or preventive maintenance.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with the Production Manager to reorder materials as needed.
**4. Quality Control**:
- Maintain close oversight of the production process to ensure all products meet quality standards as defined in the Quality Control Manual.
- Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues, reporting serious concerns to the Production Manager.
- Work with the Production Manager to review and improve quality assurance processes.
- Ensure production team members maintain a clean and organized workspace.
**5. Safety & Compliance**:
- Ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed and that the shop complies with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Report any safety issues or incidents immediately to the Production Manager and take necessary steps to prevent future occurrences.
- Lead safety meetings and contribute to developing a safe work environment in collaboration with the Production Manager.
**6. Continuous Improvement**:
- Identify areas for process improvement on the production floor and discuss potential changes with the Production Manager.
- Implement approved changes and innovations, ensuring the production team is trained on new procedures or equipment.
- Stay informed on industry trends and new manufacturing technologies to provide recommendations to the Production Manager.
**Qualifications**
**Education**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical certification in construction, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred.
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
