As a Lead Carpenter, you will be supervising and setting the pace for production on our Modular Home factory.
You will be working with tools, organizing fabrication orders, and filling finished orders, and training/instructing other carpenters. You must also be able to manage priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with ease. We value a team environment and hold strong beliefs in promoting a positive culture within that team. Job Details and Responsibilities:
- Lead and build teams, and subtrades.
- Supervise the team of carpenters.
- Organize materials and ensure that materials, tools, manpower and equipment are ready and enough to keep production requirements.
- Inspect production phases and ensure high quality standards.
- Report any maintenance issues,
- Oversee and plan daily tasks for self and other carpenters.
- Set the pace for daily operations and maintain efficient production.
- Ensure General Safety.
- Supervise and lead by example for all carpenters, ensuring they utilize safe, proper, and efficient fabricating methods according to project/design specification.
- Perform variety of rough and finish carpentry as project requires.
- Interpret drawings, setting tasks and ensure proper flow of the process.
**Requirements**:
- Experience with both wood construction and metal construction.
- Good written and computer skills.
- Able to handle all steps of construction, from frame to interiors.
- Proven experience performing general and detailed carpentry tasks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Multitasking ability.
- Process-oriented.
- Organized and tidy.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle tight deadlines.
- Excellent prioritizing and organizing skills, being able to divide and set proper goals for the team.
This is an in-plant job. Lead carpenter will be based out of our 2805 Slough (Mississauga) location.
