Maintenance Manager

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of our facility. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the reliability of all equipment, ensuring the proper functioning of all equipment, systems, and infrastructure. This is a leadership role that requires strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to supervise a team.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Ensure that all requisite tasks are handled quickly and efficiently within budget restraints.
- Responsible for department personnel issues, performance reviews and hiring requirements.
- Coordination with the Chief Engineer to ensure reliability and compliance for Utilities and Site Services
- Ensure Equipment uptime is optimized through regular preventive maintenance, ensuring plans are in place and executed on all assets in a timely manner.
- Provides response for emergency/unscheduled repairs (Breakdown) of production equipment as required.
- Ensures that all Safety, Health and Environmental Regulations are complied with, including TSSA regulations for (Elevating devices, Boilers, Pressure Vessels and Ammonia systems).
- Involved in all aspects of building maintenance requirements, all new construction, renovations or updates to current systems.
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate contractor activities.
- Support Department Management, Project Managers and Consultants as required.
- Update and maintain information in Global Egg Corporation’s records systems and department databases.
- Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work.
- Oversee management of the Technical Store and Spare part inventories for the maintenance department.
- Monitor parts purchasing (prioritizing, selection of suppliers)
- Meet with Fire Department, Hydro, and other external stakeholders as required.
- Assist in the orientation and training of staff.
- Ensure that departmental procedures and systems, e.g., "systems for preventative maintenance", "maintenance requisitions", scheduling of work and continued quality improvement/risk management programs are followed.
- Keep current with ongoing changes and new technology and adapt accordingly.
- Takes a proactive role in ensuring a safe working environment is maintained and all legislative and company requirements are met.
- Conduct incident/accident investigation, root cause analysis and recommend preventive/corrective measures.
- Hold weekly departmental safety meetings and monthly plant safety meetings
- Assist in developing workplace safety procedures for Maintenance department
- Enforce and promote workplace safety procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates.
**Qualification Requirements**:
- Proven experience in a maintenance management role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Engineering degree preferred. College degree or Technical Education Certification in a Maintenance related area.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise a team
Minimum 10+ years experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings.
- First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets.
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, low voltage electrical systems, and schematics
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on finding practical solutions
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues
