**About the Position**:
This position is responsible for the processing and reporting of data from a variety of analyses on the HRMS and GCMS systems. On a daily basis, this person is responsible primarily for the assessment, coding, and reporting of analytical data. This position is also responsible for aiding instrument-operating analysts as needed, and for maintaining adequate production timelines, and quality control expectations.

Specific Responsibilities
- Data processing, review and reporting (LIMS and Excel) for a variety of instrument methods;
- Evaluate data and trouble-shoot problems with the data/extraction/analysis;
- Interpret data, conduct calculations, and transfer data into electronic data collection software;
- Communicate with HRMS supervisor regarding workload, as required;
- Ensure the quality of the analytical data meets ALS standards;
- Data entry and verification;
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures;
- Assist in other analytical sections of the lab as required;
- Organize workload to meet Turn around Times (TAT’s) and hold times. Must be able to prioritize and multitask as many tests are run daily;
- Able to query a work list of samples, create work groups, data entry and transfer, report generation and LIMS status updates;
- Adhere to strict QA/QC requirements;
- Must be well organised, and able to work independently as well as part of a team;
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
- Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
- Work in accordance with the established health and safety policies and procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Well organized, able to prioritize and multitask;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Must be capable of working with mínimal supervision;
- Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal);
- Moderate experience with Excel and Microsoft Word;
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Required Qualifications
- 1 or more year(s) of extensive lab experience;
- Completion of technical diploma or B.Sc. degree in chemistry or related field.

Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs and carry for short distances;
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;
- Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required;
- Ability to stand or sit for a full shift;
- You may be exposed to unpleasant odours;
- Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and weekend shift work including weekends.
