Journeyman Lineman

**Overview**

Lineman's Testing Laboratories of Canada ("LTL") is a forward-thinking and well-established electrical services and safety equipment supply company with locations across Canada. LTL has progressively expanded over the years to include a broad spectrum of recognized electrical, utility, and industrial products, equipment, and services.

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Performing substation maintenance
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair underground electrical distribution systems
- Install and terminate pad mount transformers and switch gear
- Perform Maintenance on Customer owned hydro poles

Includes Switch and Terminal Pole equipment

Climb poles when necessary
- Operate bucket and digger trucks

**Education, Training & Skills**

**Skills**
- Must have own Tools, some basics on hand
- Strong English language skills both verbal and written
- Climbing of small towers and servicing components where not accessible
- Perform line maintenance in a safe efficient manner utilizing de-energized, live line hot stick, live line rubber glove or live line barehand techniques on voltages up to and including 44KV.
- Operate and maintain such hand tools as may be required for the job including blocks, grips, jacks, hot line tools and cover up, etc.
- Willingness to learn and understand Prints, SLD's, Locates, Permits & Approvals
- Willing to work in extreme weather conditions on weekends and holidays

**Education & Experience**
- Lineman certificate OR 4th year apprentices
- Utility Work Protection Code
- Fall Protection/ Working at Heights Certificate
- Complete knowledge working experience with electrical power distribution systems
- Valid G driver's licence with air endorsement DZ or AZ
- Certified to operate bucket and digger trucks
