Avana is hiring a **Site Manager (Landscaping/Maintenance). **The successful applicant will be a professional, self-reliant, trustworthy, and efficient individual who has endurance, the ability to follow instructions and a commitment to safety, responsible for the landscaping and site management of Avana’s property portfolio.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the landscaping and yard maintenance for Avana properties.
- Overall site cleanliness, management, and landscaping maintenance, including, but not limited to weed control, seasonal sprinkler blowouts, exterior waterline checks, etc.
- Operate small landscaping equipment and machinery including, but not limited to, lawnmowers, snow blowers, and weed trimmers.
- Responsible for minor landscaping project opportunities, as identified.
- Maintain small engines, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Enforce and follow site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
- Support maintenance needs throughout all of Avana’s owned property assets.
- Recodes on battery-operated, electronic-entry keypad deadbolts.
- De-ice and snow removal of vacant residential and commercial property sidewalks and parking pads.
- Enforce and follow site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
- Any other tasks as assigned by the Team Lead.
- Attend and represent Avana at various community events and functions.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- A Chemical Applicator’s License is considered an asset or must be willing to obtain.
- Experience operating machinery such as skid steers is an asset.
- A Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract is required. The ability to haul a trailer is an asset.
- Preference to work in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to excellence.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, possessing excellent interpersonal skills.
- Heavy lifting, working outdoors, and manual labour tasks are a large focus of the role.
- A team player with a strong ability to work independently, self-schedule, and efficiently manage their own time.
- Work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to exercise tact and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Pride yourself on high-quality work. Ability to be a team player.
- In this position, you will be required to work outside of the regular site hours, including evenings and weekends during busy seasons or times of the month.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (i.e. Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen).

**Compensation Package**:

- **Benefits**:Dental and medical benefits package. 80% of the cost is covered by Avana. Option for the employee to purchase disability and life insurance.
- **Pension Plan**:The Pension Plan will commence at the start of your second year of employment.2% of salary matched in year two, 3% of salary matched in year three, 4% of salary matched in year 4 and 5% of salary matched in year 5.
- **Vacation Entitlement**:20 business days per year. Must be accumulated prior to taking them.
- **Annual Bonus**:Opportunity to earn up to 10% of salary as an annual bonus.
- **Probation Period**:The probation period is 90 days from the start date.
- **Criminal Record Checks **are required for all Avana employees prior to being hired. This will be obtained at your expense and will not be reimbursed by the Employer.
