
Director of Emergency Services

**Position Overview**
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Emergency Services is the main generator of board up leads for the branch. The Director of Emergency Services is expected to strengthen relationships with all existing and potential customers through business development, and accounts management activities, including sponsoring and participating in local charity fundraising events to create direct awareness of the **1-800-BOARDUP** brand. They are responsible for educating local fire departments, police, EMS, dispatchers, Red Cross and other key personnel, as well as the public, about the **1-800-BOARDUP** brand, and victim services and will provide reliable emergency board up services as required.
**Job Duties**
- Complete and document all items of **1-800-BOARDUP’s** Onboarding Plan
- Provide education and assistance to fire/disaster victims as needed
- Prepare weekly activity reports and submit to your direct supervisor
- Work closely with the **BELFOR** emergency crews to dispatch emergency board up services
- Work closely with customers to ensure our citizens are safe and taken care of, by explaining the process and setting expectations
- Work closely with Estimator/Sales personnel to complete a proper hand off of the customer meeting certain time constraints to achieve specific timelines
- Meet with community groups when available to explain our role to the public
- Participate / plan fundraising charity events that benefit local charities
- Ensure all protocols are followed as it relates to insurance, legislation or division specific
- Secure (work) authorizations and deposits to commence project in accordance with office policies and protocols
- Communicate professionally with the general public, staff, customers, subcontractors and insurance companies; coordinate and schedule emergency services with customers and clients
- Coordinate and attend after-hours emergency jobs to ensure services are completed as required
- Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
- Comply with all **BELFOR **policies and procedures
- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
- Attend all company sponsored training events / courses as required
**Qualifications***
- Previous experience working with a Fire Department
- Construction / Restoration / Insurance (Residential, Commercial and Industrial), experience preferred
- Hazardous material identification including asbestos, lead paint, mold and IICRC unsanitary categories 2, 3 and Special Situations
- Solid working knowledge of building codes and regulatory agencies
- Excellent critical thinking, decision-making and problem solving skills
- Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per **BELFOR’s **vehicle policy
- Self-directed, takes initiative, with the ability to work within a team or independently as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Intermediate computer experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs
- Flexible work schedule, but willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when required
- Travel will be required

**Physical Demands**
- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
- Access and mobility in tight spaces
- Fit Testing - half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required
- Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
