**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Team Supervisor for the facility, this role is responsible for assisting in the day to day operational and process activities.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Performs daily and short-term task planning in order to ensure that activities are appropriately responded to and achieved according to customer expectations.
- Performs planned and urgent repairs to the infrastructure including mains, laterals, services and appurtenances.
- Coordinates tasks and provides operational support to capital works, development and service permits.
- Provides instruction, coaching and training to staff.
- Performs customer service functions for customer complaints, issue resolution, system flow and pressure testing, identifying wastewater system redundancies.
- Assists in delivery of planned preventative maintenance activities to meet approved levels of service for all assets.
- Ensures internal staff and external contractors follow all Occupational Health & Safety practices and procedures.
- Supports the replacement of infrastructure improvements for maintenance holes, laterals, water services, valves, mains, etc.
- Act as work site liaison for annual and impromptu inspections.
- Act as operator in charge, ensure operational compliance and provide exceptional customer service.
- Recommend improvements to DWQMS and QUEST procedures, work instructions and practices.
- Ensure shops, vehicles and work sites are safely maintained, and that required safety inspections are completed on time.
- Perform water and wastewater operator and other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent with (2) two years of additional education or training the MOECC Director considers relevant is essential.
- Ministry of Environment & Climate Change (MOECC) operator certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection with a minimum of (4) four years of experience that includes pipes, appurtenances, pump stations and reservoirs.
- The incumbent must hold at least one of the required licenses and able able to obtain both in a reasonable time period.
- Through understanding of regulations enforced by the MOECC, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Transportation and other relevant legislation related to water distribution and wastewater collection subsystem operations and maintenance.
- Demonstrate the ability to coach operators, clearly deliver instructions, and provide appropraite feedback.
- Aptitude for computers in order to effectively manage work orders within Hansen CMMS system.
- Co-operative team member who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.

**Preferred**
- A college diploma or university degree in an environmental field.
- Familiarity with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System.

**Working Conditions**
- Flexibility in working hours is required to serve standby, respond to after hour callouts and periodically work afternoon shifts.
- The ability to work in confined spaces and oversee and perform designated duties in inclement weather.

**Employment Conditions**
- The incumbent will be required to possess and maintain a valid Class ‘DZ’ license and drive a Regional vehicle therefore will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license and a driver’s abstract, by their first day of employment.
