Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yorkton and Area is seeking a full-time Mentoring Coordinator.

**Role Overview**:
The Mentoring Coordinator will be responsible for providing guidance and support for the community and school based mentoring programs in Yorkton and area by establishing and maintaining strong internal and external relationships and ensuring sound, and innovative program practices. The Mentoring Coordinator plays a pivotal role in facilitating our mentoring programs, ensuring adherence to national standards while fostering meaningful connections between mentors and mentees. This position entails casework management, program coordination, and involvement in fund development activities to sustain our mentoring programs.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree or minimum 2-year diploma in a related field (e.g., social or human services, child and youth work, education, family studies).

Must have a firm conviction of the Big Brothers Big Sisters purpose and objectives.

Experience and knowledge working with diverse ethno-cultural communities, vulnerable youth populations and children and youth facing adversity

Experience in volunteer management, recruitment, and supervision is an asset.

Possess a trauma-informed, strength-based approach in building connections.

Commitment to empowering clients and volunteers through a strengths-based approach.

Knowledge and experience in interviewing and assessments.

Proficiency in databases and all Microsoft programs including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel, online platforms and other related software.

Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting solid customer service both in-person and telephone.

Training and facilitation skills.

Experience working with diverse ethno-cultural communities and working with children and youth facing adversity.

Cultural awareness, and a commitment to program development that is inclusive, and meets the needs of the diverse populations we serve,

Knowledge of community and school resources.

Demonstrated ability to show initiative and decision-making, and work both independently and as part of a team.

The ability to stay organized, time management and adaptable to change.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Reliable transportation with minimum $1,000,000 liability insurance and valid driver’s license required.

Flexible schedule, including availability for evening and weekend work.
- **Pre-Employment Screening Requirements**_: Successful completion of Police Check, Vulnerable Sectors Check and Child Intervention Record Check.

The applicant must reside in Canada and be a permanent resident of Canada or Canadian citizen.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $40,040.00-$43,680.00 per year
