The Finance and Corporate Services Division provides a suite of strategic business services enabling ministry staff to support the well-being of children, youth, and families in BC. The division works across the ministry to ensure compliance with corporate financial policy and legislation and assists clients in achieving their business and financial objectives.

As a member of Finance and Corporate Services’ Analytics Office, the senior economist provides quality information and advice to decision-makers through value-added analysis, modelling, and research. The senior economist initiates, designs and implements complex statistical analysis and economic modelling projects and provides advice to senior management. The work of the Workforce Analytics team supports the ministry’s transformation projects, all ministry services (Child Protection & Family Services, Children and Youth with Support Needs, Early Years, Child and Youth Mental Health, Adoptions & Permanency, Youth Transition and Specialized Intervention & Youth Justice) and also serves ministry support areas including finance and quality assurance in the collection and mobilization of workforce intelligence.

**Job Requirements**:

- Master’s degree in economics or closely related field such as statistics, commerce, mathematics or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of recent relevant experience**; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in economics or closely related field such as statistics, commerce, mathematics or equivalent and four (4) years of recent relevant experience**

**Recent (within the last 5 years) relevant experience must include:
- Experience using R, SQL or other programming language for data processing and statistical analysis.
- Experience in preparing and presenting the results of complex statistical and/or economic analysis through written summaries, reports and visual analytics, to senior management and executive.**About this Position**:
