The Cultivated B (TCB) is a highly innovative and science-driven biotechnology and bioengineering company from Germany, focusing on developing and manufacturing high-precision systems for cellular agriculture and pharmaceutical industry.
Our recently opened facility in Burlington, ON, is focused on the development and production of bioreactors, photobioreactors and advanced machinery for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated Research and Development center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.
We seek a dedicated and passionate Vice President of Sales to join The Cultivated B’s executive team. The VP of Sales is a senior member of the organization, responsible for revenue-generating activities, including the sales of bioreactors, cell lines, and related services throughout the cellular agriculture value chain.
You will build strategic partnerships with customers in North American and global markets. Driving revenue growth by setting targets, building a sales team, developing strategies, analyzing sales channels, and identifying adjacent or creative market opportunities are key tasks owned by the VP of Sales. You will work closely with the executive teams in Canada and in Germany and report to the CEO.
**Job Duties**
- Develop and execute the global sales strategy and lead the global sales and business development teams
- Establish commercial partnerships with top-tier global pharmaceutical and food processors, cellular agriculture companies, biotechnology companies, precision fermentation, cultivated meat, cellular agriculture and research institutions
- Build and motivate a sales organization covering key markets
- Establish best-in-class sales operations, including Customer Relationship Management and sales funnels
- Drive the narrative for differentiating the TCB offerings and brand
- Collaborate with various departments to analyze market trends, analyze the competitive landscape, develop strategies, execute sales campaigns, and optimize pricing and commercial terms
- Spearhead initiatives to continuously connect with customers to ensure needs are embedded throughout TCB’s product and service line
**Qualifications**
- Proven work experience as a VP of Sales or similar with team management and Profit and Loss responsibilities
- An existing network within one or more of the following sectors: large scale pharmaceutical and food processing, functional food ingredients, supplements, cellular agriculture, cultivated meat companies, precision fermentation or in related sector supply chains
- University education in biology, bioprocessing, or engineering, additional business education preferred
- 10+ years business to business sales experience in biotechnology, novel foods, pharmaceuticals, biotech machinery or lab equipment
- Experience with bioreactors is strongly preferred
- Knowledge in Customer Relationships Management (CRM) systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Travel as required
- Entrepreneurial experience preferred
