**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role you will:

- conduct geological field investigations related to aggregate deposits and materials
- collect, evaluate and interpret geological information related to mineral aggregates
- liaise with and provide geological advice to industry, land-use professionals and other stakeholders
- prepare geological maps, reports, and presentations detailing results of specialized investigations as well as serving on technical working groups.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- You are a registered geoscientist or geoscientist-in-training in good standing with Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) or with another regulated association of geoscientists.

**Specialized knowledge**: You have:

- knowledge and understanding of current and scientific geoscientific principles, theories and practices that are applicable to aggregate resource studies to collect and evaluate geographical information
- experience and knowledge of Quaternary geology and Paleozoic bedrock to organize, coordinate and conduct mineral aggregate investigations and mapping
- knowledge of surficial and bedrock mapping, sampling and resource evaluation techniques

**Project management and leadership skills**: You have:

- knowledge of project management principles to plan, organize and conduct geological investigations and direct work of consultants
- well developed planning and organizational skills to develop, implement and complete geoscience studies within guidelines and timeframes
- leadership skills to provide technical supervision to staff, consultants, and contractors

**Analytical and evaluation skills**: You have:

- analytical and evaluation skills to develop and implement aggregate resource projects and interpret geoscience data
- knowledge of legislation (Aggregate Resources Act) and regulations affecting the aggregate industry

**Communication and consultation skills**:

- You have oral and written communication skills to produce and edit aggregate resource maps, databases and reports
- You can develop and conduct presentations
- You can clarify and exchange information to staff, the public, the government and industry clients

**Computer skills**: You have:

- knowledge of orienteering, GPS technology and air photo interpretation to evaluate and detail aggregate resources
- knowledge and experience operating software and hardware including software for map construction (i.e., GIS software), databases, spreadsheets and word processing
