Breakdance Instructor

Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for dancers aged 7 to 17
- Create a safe and nurturing learning environment for dancers to thrive in
- Provide individualized instruction and support to meet the needs of each dancer
- Foster positive relationships with dancers, their parents, and colleagues
- Monitor and assess dancers' progress and provide feedback to the Director
- Collaborate with other instructors to develop choreography and performances
- Maintain a clean studio space
Schedule: Saturday mornings from September 2024-June 2025
10-11am Junior Breakdance (ages 7-10)
11am-12pm Senior / Intermediate Breakdance (ages 11-17)
Qualifications:
- Extensive training in and knowledge of Breaking
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be open and willing to collaborate with the Director and other instructors
- Ability to engage and motivate dancers
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability in working with ages 7 to 17; willingness to create choreography to "non-traditional" breaking music
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
The Instructor cannot teach at any other studio in the Surrey / White Rock area. Teaching contract is valid from September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
**Job Types**: Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 10 months
**Salary**: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 per week
