**Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team to operate out of our self-serve dog wash area in a freelance position. Here, you will be able to benefit from exposure from our established customer base and grow your business with self-determined hours. The Pet Specialist casual position requires applicants to engage customers in a retail store environment. You will be part of a team that strives to provide customer focused support around pet nutrition and well-being. The successful applicant will be able to work with limited supervision and involve processing payments on a POS system and merchant terminals.

**Pet Groomer Duties**:

- Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, and styling pets' fur according to client preferences and breed.
- Trim nails, clean ears, and provide other basic grooming services
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with the grooming results
- Consistent display of organizational skills in order to maintain scheduling and time management
- Keep accurate records of each pet's grooming history

**Pet Specialist Duties**:

- Motivated and engaged in providing superior customer service
- Consistently display strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to assist pet parents around their pet related problems and develop informed solutions using product and nutritional knowledge.
- Work with limited supervision, as you are responsible for the day-to-day running of the store.
- Be able to complete payments on a POS system and merchant terminals.
- Be passionate about pets

**Requirements**:

- Proof of Grooming Certificate
- At least 6 months of experience working as a Pet Groomer
- Strong knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements
- Ability to handle pets with care and compassion, ensuring their comfort throughout the grooming process
- Ability to manage all size dogs
- Own Equipment
- Ability to continuously lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
- Attention to detail to ensure precision in grooming techniques
- Reliable transportation
- Previous experience in retail is an asset
- Ability to work Sunday and Monday as the Pet Specialist with the occasional fill in days.
