**Packaging Technician Job Description**:
Join Deepwater Farms, an innovative indoor vertical farm specializing in year-round hydroponic cultivation of leafy greens using LED technology. We supply premium salad mixes to local grocery stores and restaurants.

**Role**: Packaging Technicians play a crucial role in our production process, ensuring timely fulfillment of customer orders. This position involves packaging salad mixes into clamshells for retail sale, maintaining strict adherence to food safety standards.

**Location**: All packaging tasks are conducted in our commercial cooler maintained at 3-6°C.

**Work Hours**: Part-time position with flexible shifts between Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Shift durations range from 4 to 8 hours.

**Responsibilities**:

- Package retail cases with precision, each containing 10 clamshells filled with 0.25 pounds of product.
- Maintain product quality by selecting only the freshest leaves and removing any unhealthy ones.
- Meet hourly case packaging targets.
- Maintain cleanliness in the production area, including wiping and sanitizing equipment, and sweeping/mopping as needed.

**Skills Required**:

- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds.
- Attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Effective communication skills.
- Comfortable working in diverse environments and within small teams or independently.

**Other Requirements**:

- Reliable transportation.

**Hiring Process**:

- Phone interview.
- In-person interview involving a trial packaging session lasting 30-60 minutes.

**Compensation**:

- Piece-rate model with compensation ranging from $15.35 to $18 per completed case.
- The anticipated average time to package one case is 8 minutes, offering potential hourly earnings upto $18 based on productivity.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $15.35-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 24 per week
