**Field Service Technician**
- Ottawa Ontario
- Day service hours are 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. And you must have some on-call shifts
- C of Q - Gas Fitter 1 and an OBT1 would be ideal
- Company Vehicle and cell phone provided

Ian Martin Workforce is working with one of Ontario's most reputable Industrial and Commercial Boiler and Burner System companies that manufacture and service high-end Boilers, Pumps, and Burners as well as provide 24-7 services to their clients within Ontario. As our new Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing start-up services, troubleshooting, and repair activities on natural gas and light oil-fired industrial boilers in the field at customer sites. You would be an ideal fit for this company if you have the desire to learn and grow as a trades professional as well as have a passion for troubleshooting and can work independently to solve problems.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead all on-site installation (starts up and upgrades), preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, and testing tasks
- Use test equipment, meters, and your own mechanical abilities to fire boilers and related equipment to ensure proper operation prior to and during installation
- Diagnose errors and technical problems to determine proper solutions and make appropriate recommendations to customers
- Complete documentation such as field service reports, start-up reports, warranty forms, technical recommendation forms, etc.
- Ensure truck inventory is aligned with the recommended parts list
- Promote upgrades in addition to parts sales and new and rental boiler sales
- Perform basic electrical and mechanical repairs on boilers and auxiliary equipment
- Develop and maintain good customer relationships and represent and promote the company in a professional manner
- You will be a Brand Ambassador and the face of the company to the customers, which means that you understand how important customer service which will is just as important as your technical aptitude.

**Qualifications**:

- A level 1 gas license is required
- OBT 1 oil license is strongly preferred but not required
- 5+ years of experience working as a service technician in a related industry
- Experience working on commercial/industrial hot water boiler systems
- Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, and understanding of gas and oil combustion
- Ability to read and understand prints, drawings, and technical bulletins
- Basic computer skills to complete service reports and logs
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
