**Job Summary**:
Performs all janitorial duties in the store, offices and washrooms. Light snow removal around the entrances will be required.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Follows cleaning schedule as directed by the Store Manager
- Vacuums store mats and dusts offices
- Sweeps and mops store floors
- Cleans lunchroom and bathrooms
- Cleans store windows, mirrors and glass display cases
- Collects rubbish and places in outside bin
- Removes leaves from outside entrances
- Keeps equipment clean and stored in proper place
- Ensures all cleaning fluids are labeled (WHMIS labels) and used as directed
- Resolves any safety and potential accident concerns and reports these to the Store Manager and/or safety committee member
- Reports known or suspected security or theft problems to the Store Manager/Supervisor or other member of senior management
- Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Store Manager, Supervisor or Lead Associate
- Actively support and promote the mission, vision and values of Goodwill Industries Niagara
- Conform to all Health and Safety regulations and procedures as laid out in the Employee Handbook
**Qualifications**:
- S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education preferred
- Previous experience in a retail setting an asset
- Strong customer service and problem solving skills
- Ability to follow written instructions and to abide by WHMIS training/regulations
- Physically capable of handling equipment used and to stand for long periods of time (3 hours)
- Willing to transfer to other regional locations as needed
- Maintain a valid CPR/First Aid certificate an asset
- Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends.
