**Job Overview**
We have a need for a **Foreman/Woman **for projects primarily throughout the Annapolis Valley and South Shore of Nova Scotia. Reporting to the C.E.O and collaborating with the Project Managers, and all members of the Project Team, the Foreman/Woman is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and monitoring worksite functions and activities necessary to achieve the fundamental project objectives.

**Responsibilities**
Accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations and security requirements. Provide safety leadership and promote a positive safety culture and a workplace that is respectful and inclusive.
- Work with local governing authorities.
- Execute work in accordance with established project schedules, contracts and codes.
- Coordinate all on-site activities and aspects of the project that are assigned by the Project Manager and C.E.O.
- Manage trades and suppliers and plan ahead to foresee problems, arrange work, and procure materials in advance to avoid schedule delays.
- Maintain detailed, accurate project documents.
- Meet regularly with any assigned personnel to ensure proper information flow and adherence to due dates, budgeted hours, and costs. Conduct safety meetings and inspections.
- Direct the work of other project employees as assigned, for the purpose of completing scheduled work assignments.

**Job Requirements**
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership role of medium sized construction projects.
- Extensive knowledge of occupational health and safety specific to the construction industry. Training in, or willingness to be trained, in areas such as regulations and standards, fall protection, first aid, respiratory protection, aerial work platforms, emergency preparedness, hazard assessment/control, due diligence, etc.
- Ability to coordinate on-site operations including interpretation and implementation of drawings and specifications.
- Interpersonal and leadership skills with an astute ability to work with own forces and subcontractors.
- Adept at scheduling, budget control, and proper detailing.
- Familiar with industrial, institutional, and commercial construction including design-build, construction management, and general contracting.
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Strong negotiation, communication, time management, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Journeyman's classification in a skilled trade (Red Seal or Gold Seal Certification) would be considered an asset.
