**Overview**: As a General Construction Labourer, you will play a key role in supporting various construction projects by performing a wide range of tasks and duties. Working under the supervision of foremen or lead technicians, you will assist in the preparation, execution, and completion of construction activities while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Site Preparation and Cleanup**:

- Assist in setting up and dismantling construction sites, including erecting scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures.
- Clean and prepare work areas by removing debris, trash, and hazardous materials.
- Organize tools, equipment, and materials to ensure they are readily available for use.
- **Material Handling and Loading**:

- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport materials to designated work areas using wheelbarrows, hand trucks, or other equipment.
- Assist in measuring, cutting, and assembling materials as directed by supervisors.
- **Assistance with Construction Tasks**:

- Support skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, masons, and equipment operators, in performing their duties.
- Mix and pour concrete, asphalt, or other materials as needed for construction projects.
- Assist in installing and repairing structures, utilities, and infrastructure components.
- **Equipment Operation and Maintenance**:

- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small construction equipment under supervision.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures when using machinery and equipment.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors immediately.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions as required.
- **Team Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with team members and subcontractors to complete tasks according to project schedules and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers to coordinate work activities.
- Support a positive and productive work environment through teamwork and cooperation.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in construction or related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and manual labor.
- Basic knowledge of construction practices, tools, and equipment.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in various construction tasks.

**Education and Certification**:

- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Certification or training in construction-related trades is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record may be required for certain tasks.

**Work Environment**:

- Work primarily takes place outdoors on construction sites, involving exposure to varying weather conditions and physical demands.
- May require occasional travel to different project locations and flexibility in working hours to meet project deadlines.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)
