**What you’ll do**

- _Small is Mighty_. The team works to collaborate widely across the organization to support fundraising and philanthropy efforts.
- We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
**Philanthropy Assistant**. This position will provide support to the Major Gifts Team in engaging donors in raising funds for BCCHF. The position is pivotal in building and maintaining strong partnerships both internally and externally and is often the front-line contact for the department with Foundation colleagues and with donors. The work in this role will contribute to the smooth functioning of fundraising initiatives and the day-to-day success of our major gifts.
- More specifically, as the Philanthropy Assistant you will:

- Support the fundraising activities of the Director, Major Gifts as well as two Associate Directors, Major Gifts by coordinating donor meetings, preparing briefing and debriefing notes, ensuring actions identified in meetings are followed up on, and creating/preparing materials for meetings.
- Assist in the coordination of personalized stewardship and recognition activities related to the Director’s and Associate Director’s portfolios, including developing recognition materials, coordinating impact reports, organizing donor meetings, and reviewing mailing lists.
- Work closely with the Director, Major Gifts as well as two Associate Directors, Major Gifts to deliver exceptional service to donors as well as key internal and external stakeholder groups, including hospital partners and senior volunteers, while respecting confidentiality in all matters.
- Review donor prospects lists and make recommendations on next steps and actions that could advance the donor relationship.
- Provide administrative support for the Major Gift Team including, ordering supplies, submitting expense reports, and maintaining department budget.
- Maintain donor records in Raiser’s Edge NXT database (RE); proactively inputting notes, actions, proposals, gift agreements and reporting requirements into RE and ensuring information/actions are brought forward as needed.

**What you bring**
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to draft, proof, and edit a range of written materials.
- Ability to efficiently organize and manage a diverse range of assignments while meeting multiple deadlines, along with thorough attention to all details and consistent with follow through.
- Experience assisting with stewardship events.
- Resourcefulness and independence, while remaining comfortable working within the framework of a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Professional demeanor with an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
- A flexible schedule which allows for occasional after-hours events and meetings.
