To support this growth and ensure the smooth operation of our information technology systems and infrastructure, we are on the search for an experienced **IT Specialist. **Reporting to the Management team, this role plays an integral part of our overall business operations, managing and maintaining Sierra’s technology, systems, and information security for both our office-based and field-based teams.

**Role Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Maintain and optimize databases to support construction project and ERP system data, and troubleshoot issues
- Utilize (SAP) Crystal Reports and Power BI for the purpose of data analysis, creating, and customizing reports
- Manage the integration of AI technologies into company operations
- Security management; installing, configuring, and managing security systems such as endpoint detection and prevention systems, anti-virus software, firewalls, and other security-related software and hardware
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners
- Implementation of software upgrades including operating systems and other enhancements as required
- Complete set up of accounts and provide technical training for new users; field and office
- Assist in the documentation of systems, policies, procedures, and best practices
- Manage company cellular and internet services encompassing provider contracts, implementations, employee set-up and support, etc.
- Coordinate procurement of computers, printers, networking devices and equipment (managing inventory), hardware/software deployments, and infrastructure changes for replacement or expansion based on new hires and business needs
- Act as champion and/ or member of a project team for implementation of technology solutions
- Manage overall system and server maintenance including backups
- Manage security and building access systems to office facilities
- Provide IT support, general IT maintenance and/or emergency call out outside of standard working hours on occasion as necessitated by the needs of the business

**Skills, Background, and Education Requirements**:

- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related role (including Systems Administration, Technology Support Specialist, Network Technician/ Administrator, Help Desk, etc.) within a mid-size company
- Successful completion of relevant post-secondary diploma (Network Engineering, Network Technician, Information Technology and Information Systems, Systems Administrator, etc.). A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Proficiency with Exchange/ Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint included) and Windows environments needed, with working knowledge of SQL based databases, Crystal Reports, SentinelOne Cyber Security an asset
- An analytical, collaborative team member who demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Technical and logically minded with advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities
- Knowledge of construction-based software and construction industry processes in general an asset
