Saw Operator (Truss Production)

**Company Profile**

Norspan Engineered Wood Products is looking for a full-time Saw Operator to join our team. Forklift experience will be considered an asset.

**The Saw Operator will be responsible for**:

- **Operating computer controlled saws according to Company Standard Operating Procedures (i.e., health & safety, quality, on-time, etc.)**:

- **Managing lumber stock**:

- **Inspecting the condition of all equipment, the quality of the materials being used and the quality of the work being performed and completed**:

- **Ensuring that basic equipment maintenance is performed on a regular basis (i.e., greasing of bearings, etc.)**:

- **Maintaining a clean workstation throughout the shift, in addition to final clean up shortly before the end of shift**:

- **Other duties as assigned**

**Job Requirements**:

- **Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software quickly**:

- **Must have woodworking and/or construction experience**:

- **Demonstrated ability to read schematics and a tape measure in the foot-inch-sixteenth method**:

- **Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and comply with work orders**:

- **Must be able to work independently as well as part of a Team**:

- **Detail-oriented, with attention to accuracy, safety and quality**:

- **Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking**:

- **Participating in daily meetings and offering suggestions for continuous improvement for processes, production and people**:

- **Strong organizational and communicatory skills (speaking, listening, writing)**:

- **Lifting up to 50 lbs**:

- **Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License**:

- **Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (outside of standard hours as needed)**:

- **THIS POSITION WILL BEGIN JULY 12**

- 8 hour shift
