The Opportunity

What you'll do
- Lead and manage a team of information governance professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Oversee the governance of company records, both physical and electronic, throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Governance of records management systems, primarily OpenText, and other platforms that play a role in the records management lifecycle such as SharePoint.
- Develop and implement information governance strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals, TOMS requirements, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs on document and records standards to enable company-wide adherence to procedures.
- Oversee the provision of records services, including search, retrieval, digitization, upload, retention schedule-based destruction, and TRIM.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of information governance principles across the organization.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in information governance and records management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of information governance processes and technologies.
- Manage and optimize physical records storage, retrieval, and disposition processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance with retention schedules.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in information governance, information management, records management, or related industry experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of records management principles, practices, and technologies for both physical and electronic records.
- Experience with OpenText and other document management systems (e.g., SharePoint) is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of information governance regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
- Relevant professional certifications.
- Experience in managing physical records storage facilities and processes.
- Experience in the energy sector or related industries.
- Familiarity with best practices in transitioning from physical to electronic records management systems.
