The role of the Hospital Supervisor is to provide front-line leadership after hours and oversee a wide variety of activities. The Hospital Supervisor is responsible for making just-in-time decisions related to resource allocation, bed utilization, patient flow planning, risk management, quality improvement, and the promotion of patient and family centered care at both sites. The responsibilities include an overall evaluation of the staffing and bed capacity at both sites, emphasis on communication with the Administrator On-Call as it relates to escalation of bed management plans, and crisis management. The Hospital Supervisor is responsible to lead staff, assist and mentor teams to make high-quality patient care decisions and play an active role in patient care leadership across Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare while creating an environment that supports MAHC’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:

- Baccalaureate level preparation in a Healthcare related field preferred
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Current Fire Safety Training
- Current WHMIS Training
- Current MANDT

DESIRED EDUCATION:

- Conflict management
- Certified leadership courses an asset

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

- Several years current progressive experience in related clinical setting
- Previous management experience an asset
- Promotes and provides patient / family-centered care
- Excellent computer skills having worked with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Highly motivated and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly to new situations/challenges
- Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Awareness of community supports and services for identified populations would be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physically able to work extended shifts and mobilize frequently throughout both sites

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Rotating shifts between sites will be required. Hours of work are 1500-2300, Monday-Friday and 1100-2300 on weekends
- Regular and punctual attendance is a requirement of this position
- Show an eagerness and capacity to adapt to change
- As a condition of employment, external hires are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
