We are seeking a mechanical EIT to join our extractions plant Working within a team of engineers, you will conduct inspection of fixed, rotating equipment and piping on regular basis. You will also get to perform data manipulation of wear life actual verses predicted wear of piping and pumps. If you are a problem solver, come prepared to be the first level of investigation and identification of root cause with recommendation to avoid re-occurrence

Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering- Registered or are immediately eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA)- Strong Excel skills, specifically in data manipulation- The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability- Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

**Responsibilities**:
- Act as effective liaison between the Maintenance & Reliability Engineering departments, clearly communicating ongoing plant issues, bad actors, asset upgrade opportunities/necessities, potential safety improvements, procedural advances, & recurring problems- Conduct field visits and failure investigations, then provide concise engineering scopes of work to support planned and unplanned activities- Use a questioning attitude to investigate equipment failures, determine root cause, and drive meaningful corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence- Support/Participation in Turnaround/Outage activities when required- Lead or participate in continuous improvement through collaboration with field trades and helping formulate and follow through on improvement initiatives- Assist the Reliability Engineering with equipment strategy improvements

Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday- If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided- This position is safety sensitive
