**Job Purpose**:

- To operate serger sewing machine to perform sewing operations on fabric according to specification drawings and instructions_

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Follow all Health and Safety rules and protocols
- Maintain IFM's standards of health, safety, hygiene and security in accordance with policies and procedure
- Follow IFM's Code of Coduct
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures provided for equipment operation and work processes
- Operate multi-thread serger to complete sewing operations on a wide variety of filter bags according to specification drawings and instructions
- Maintain quality standards of workmanship
- Continuous analysis of serging processes to identify quality issues and/or machine problems
- Participate in continuing serging skill training to develop and master a wide variety of serging techniques
- Perform minor adjustments and maintenance on sewing machine
- Perform any other reasonable duty requested by the Employer or Management team
- Use computer to track time and attendance and to enter piece counts
- Maintain a neat, clean and organized work center
- Participate in cross-training for a variety of production processes

**Qualifications**
- basic math skills
- computer literacy
- ability to follow written instructions and read patterns with strong attention to detail
- capable of independent and teamwork
- excellent hand-eye coordination
- problem solving skills
- willingness to learn new and advanced skills
- previous sewing experience is NOT required

**Working Conditions**
- fast paced environment associated with meeting demands and deadlines

**Physical Requirements**
- Periods of prolonged sitting
- occasional bending and lifting (30 lbs maximum)

Entry level position: $16.50/hour; 41.5 hours/week
