The Vehicle and Equipment Management Agency (VEMA) is seeking to fill the position of Trades Helper.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a full stage Manitoba's Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Must be willing and able to obtain a Class 4 Manitoba Driver's Licence within 3 months of employment.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as required.
- Must have the ability to obtain WHMIS Certification upon hire.
- Must be physically able to perform position duties including standing, reaching, bending, lifting and pushing/pulling loads up to, and at times exceeding 75-99 lbs.

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Experience performing light vehicle repair and maintenance using standard shop methods, practices and techniques, tools, equipment and materials.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under mínimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage interruptions, establish priorities, meet deadlines within tight timelines and manage high workload.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare, edit and format documents such as work orders, and vehicle documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Desired:

- Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health Act.

**Duties**:
This position is required to report to the Light Duty Fleet Manager. Duties include performing vehicle clean up, document and record vehicle information, minor mechanical repair and maintenance, shop clean up and lot snow removal, customer shuttle and maintain various shop equipment. This position may also be required to perform the duties of the Lead Trades Helper regarding coordinating and prioritizing work related to client and agency needs.
