Under general supervision of the Clerk C, the Clerk A - Permits is responsible for providing front-line services to customers of the Winnipeg Parking Authority - either at the front counter or over the phone. The areas supported include: citation payment, permits for off-street parking facilities, ensuring records are complete and up to date, statements are issued, cash receipts are applied to proper accounts, cash deposits and reconciliations are prepared on a daily basis, and providing general clerical support to the Winnipeg Parking Authority.
**As the **_Clerk A - Permits_** **you will**:
- Assist customers at the Permits Desk.
- Process ticket payments and issue receipts.
- Balance daily cash intake to reconciliation report at end of day.
- Ensure that ticket payments are processed and entered into T2 system correctly.
- Assist and direct customers with information on correct process to contest or review their ticket.
- Process payment for parking permits and issue receipts.
- Assist customers with phone inquiries regarding permits.
- Perform other miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned, consistent with the classification.
**Your education and qualifications include**:
- Grade 12 education or G.E.D. (General Education Diploma) or equivalent.
- Experience working in a customer service function.
- Ability to deal with difficult customers, and the ability to work in a challenging, fast paced environment.
- Experience with Excel, Word (Basic) and Outlook.
- Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment, and react resourcefully under varying and stressful conditions when dealing with the public and staff.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with confidential matters discreetly.
- Ability to plan and organize work effectively and resolve problems.
- Ability to maintain accurate and concise records.
- Working knowledge of T2 Flex Parking Management Software, within one month, and proficiency in three months.
- Working knowledge of Parking Citation issuance process within one month of starting.
- Working knowledge of EPS browser system within one month of starting.
- Willingness and ability to complete on-line training in Parking Facilities Management (Parking 101 - Certified Parking Facilities Mgt) within 12 months.

- The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
