**Summary**:
Reporting to the Production Manager (Static Moulding/Cleaning/TPI), the Pattern Repair Person works under the direction of the Lead Hand Pattern Maker and is responsible for assisting the Pattern Makers in providing the foundry with accurate pattern and core box equipment in a safe and timely manner.

**Major Responsibilities (but not limited to)**:

- With the guidance of a Pattern Maker, read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or written specifications as defined in the KMC patternmaking manual or provided by Foundry Engineering personnel to determine layout, sizes and shapes of patterns and required machine set-ups.
- Under the direction the Lead Hand Pattern Maker, make changes and modifications to existing pattern equipment.
- Assist in the setting up and operating a variety of woodworking machines such as bandsaws and lathes to cut and shape sections, parts, and patterns according to specifications.
- Using a variety of tools, trim, smooth, and shape surfaces, and plane, shave, file, scrape, and sand patterns to attain specified shapes.
- Under the direction the Lead Hand Pattern Maker, mark identifying information such as colours or codes on patterns, parts, and templates to indicate assembly directions.
- Assist in finishing completed products or models with shellac, lacquer, wax or paint.
- Assist in repairing broken or damaged parts.
- Assist with dimensional inspections of patterns.
- Assist with transportation of patterns.
- Maintain pattern records and documentation including changing pattern identification and alloy tags.
- Maintain electronic inventories of materials, equipment and products.
- Create and close electronic work orders in a timely manner.

**Education, Experience & Qualifications**:

- College or technical training considered an asset
- Sound experience and competence in working with wood working tools and machinery.
- Previous experience working in a woodshop and/or manufacturing environment considered an asset.
- Strong mathematic skills with the ability to work with and calculate measurements, angles and fractions.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings or written specifications.

**Hourly Wage Rate**:
$27.22 / hour (Current 2024 rate)

**Shift Premium**

Second Shift 3pm - 11pm: $1.15

Third Shift 11pm - 7am: $1.40

**Benefits**:

Defined Contribution Pension Plan begins after successful completion of 90 worked day probation

**PPE**:
All PPE including safety boots paid for by the Company
