Community Living St. Catharines is recruiting for the following position:
**Position**: Children’s Consultant, Permanent, Full Time, Posting Date: November 3, 2023

**Program ** Community Support Services - Children

Community Living St. Catharines is a non-profit charitable organization that provides opportunities and supports for people living with an intellectual disability in the St. Catharines area for over 70 years.

Community Living St. Catharines is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual, who can assist families with service navigation, service coordination and planning, with a focus on empowerment, for families who have a child or youth with an intellectual disability under the age of 18 living in the family home.

**Qualifications**:

- **Minimum - Two year Community College in a related field**:

- A commitment to the principles of inclusion and empowerment
- Experience in family systems, needs assessment, person-centered planning, negotiation and advocacy
- Experience working with families from diverse cultures and dealing with a broad spectrum of socio
- economic backgrounds, complex family dynamics (e.g. mental health), child protection issues and violence in the home.
- A sound knowledge of the current issues and trends in the Developmental Services Sector.
- Knowledge of, and working with, various partner agencies, schools, community resources.
- Experience working with Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) and their families as well as experience.
- Supporting families with navigating the case resolution process.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
- Case management experience.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Proficiency in MS Office or other related software programs.
- Valid G Driver’s License and minimum of $1 million liability insurance (use of own vehicle is required).
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Police Check.

**Hours of Work**: Forty (40) hours per week
Must be available to work evenings if required.
