_**Competent, Creative Chef required for busy childcare centre in Angus.**_

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Arrives 10 minutes prior to shift start time, dressed professionally and ready to work by scheduled times.
- Reports all non-compliance's/health/safety concerns to the Director immediately
- Plan and prepare lunches and snacks in accordance with posted menus; collaborate on new menu ideas and the posting of substitutions for parents and staff
- Understand and comply with allergy/food restrictions for all children
- Maintain the kitchen in an organized, clean, safe and hygienic condition at all times
- Complete clean up of kitchen, dishes and appliances daily
- Meet with Health Inspector as required to ensure kitchen and practices are in compliance with Simcoe Muskoka Health regulations
- Maintain accurate lists of items, equipment, or supplies needed in order to complete job duties (ex. grocery list)
- Unpacking and checking of groceries orders
- Daily laundry and general centre cleaning duties
- Menu planning and grocery ordering using a predetermined budget
- Possess exceptional customer service skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communicator, personable, warm and friendly with a professional appearance
- A team player
- Personal commitment to, and belief in continuous improvement
- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in a stressful situation
- A positive, outgoing personality
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull and lift 50 lbs
- Understands the importance of client needs such as allergens, food restrictions etc.

**Qualifications**:

- 1-2 years of experience working under the direction of a Head Chef
- Culinary Education (an asset)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Screening
- First Aid/CPR Level C (an asset)
- Food Handler's Certification
- Reliable transportation

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.35 per hour
