**Be the Spark** Join our dynamic Camping and Outdoor Education Team, where every day is different, and you will always be engaged with meaningful work
Our Forest School Educators will work as a team to provide an enriching outdoor experience for children aged 4 - 12 enrolled in the program. Tasks include tailoring programming to children’s emergent interests with a focus on self-directed learning, conducting daily site and program assessments, working alongside children to co-assess risk, and participating in play and discovery alongside the children. Educators should be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions and seasons.
**In this role, you will**:
- Provide direct program delivery to Forest School participants, including daily and seasonal planning and preparation, ongoing observation and feedback, documentation of site assessments and program assessments, and more
- Monitor the safety of all activities and programs throughout the duty period and respond immediately to rectify any safety concerns
- Provide excellent customer service to parents/guardians by delivering feedback on their child’s experience and working together to resolve any concerns
- Assist with general maintenance and cleanliness of the site
- Continuously builds relationships with members, staff, volunteers and community partners
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of all children, youth, and vulnerable people in YMCA programs including understanding legal and moral obligations related to reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services

**You bring**:
- Experience or certification in Forest School is an asset
- Experience in the outdoors is required
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR “C” required National Lifeguard Service award is an asset
- Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays required
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
